spring breaks sure aren't like they used to be right??
my sister in law GRACIOUSLY took lawton from sunday to thursday for the week to stay with her family in fayetteville. it was so so so nice of her and he was beyond thrilled to go. i hardly got a goodbye!
the week was a LOT easier because i just had one child to look after, even though that child is a handful now. sleep didn't happen, BUT i could walk during "naptime" and jack and i actually had time to talk at night before i went up with wyatt.
like i said, wyatt is pulling up EVERYWHERE. we had to lower the crib last night for the night nurse - i watched him pull up and almost flip out!
his sweet smile is back!! all the stitches on his lip have fallen out. we went to dr, mathews this week (twice) and got new smaller tubes and he said the lip would change many times. so, here it looks like the scar is a little puffy. and seriously? the tape job is crazy. this is the only way i can get this damn stuff to stick. redic!
here are some pics of lawton in fayettville spring break
painting "lightning" for daddy's birthday
cheering will on "go will! i like that yellow!" and will saying "shhhhhh"
kiddos doing pottery. i mean, why have i never thought to take him there? mandy is the best!
sweet emie is the best babysitter and still wants to carry him around - i don't know how she did it, all 38 pounds of him!
all the kids slept in the playroom and had the best time. lawton cried when he got home and kept asking when he was going back ;( i love that he loves his cousins and aunt and uncle so much. someone asked me if he was homesick and i laughed! he would hardly take the time to talk to us on facetime!
on another note, i might let his hair get more out of control for fun...i want to see how far this fro goes!
since lawton was away, i was able to slip out for a dinner to celebrate katherine and holly's birthdays this week - it was so nice to have a few cocktails and not talk about my life right now! and to get out of my workout clothes...when i am not even working out.
last night the night nurse came......OMG, I SLEPT!! no baby to worry about in the bed, i could bury my face in the pillow for the first time in 2 weeks, and jack was my sleeping buddy, not wyatt! it was great!! don't take your sleep for granted people!
wyatt was having a hard time going to bed, so i was comforting him until she got here at 9:30. right when she walked up, she took him from me and said, go get some rest. i checked on them once ... and looked on the monitor a few times. everytime i looked, she was rocking him and he was fast asleep in her arms. she said when he moved, he played with the tubes and tried to rub them off, so she moved him, he cried,. repeat, repeat. story of my life. BUT she was doing it. i can't wait until she comes back tuesday.
buuuut, sista can't be rocking him and comforting him because i can't be doing that once he stops turning on his belly and "gets" the new way he needs to sleep.
AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT! ya'll know what i am talking about? youtube it ;)
today is jack's birthday. poor guy. i don't have anything planned except a ghetto ice cream cake (oh, just wait for the pic) and some cards. waa waa. we WILL become fun again. WE WILL!
PS- thank you for all of your encouragement - i read every comment and please don't be offended if i don't write back, i am not at the computer often but i love reading them and they keep me going! xoxo
I am so glad to see Wyatt smiling again and glad you got some rest and a girls night out!! You are my hero. Things will get easier. Thinking about you all the time! Xoxo
