this weekend was bonsai, but so much fun. friday, lawton and i drove to greensboro for jack's mom's (elkins side) family reunion on saturday at the hall's house. we got to catch up with cousins galore! emily's (jack's mom) mother had 7 sisters and 2 brothers. umm....is that not insane? i can hardly imagine having 4! that woman must have been incredible and let's not forget VERY patient! well, all the 8 girls and 2 boys' kids and their kids and their kids all came to greensboro for the celebration. there was a total of about 70 people there i think. i loved seeing everyone (well, for the "hello, good to see you" that i gave and then off to chase my boy) and even meeting a few family members that i have yet to meet. lawton and i left around 2 to drive back home to get to my aunt karen's 50th birthday party. jack stayed behind to have some extra time with family. i tried to make it to a baby sip and see at 5, but i think i might have passed out on the couch, newborn in hand. so, i rested for a bit, rallied and had a great time at the party. lawton and are are anxiously waiting for daddy to get home today!
very happy to see daddy - he was in greensboro all week and we missed him;(
may hair is HUGE. this humidity needs to find its way somewhere else.
cousin jake (17), law and jack. last time i saw jake, jack and i were engaged. great to see him and his brother sam and their parents barry and the one and only, hilarious amy
chasing after cousin will
and slapping cousin emily. i didn't get a picture of the whole family because shorty after this picture, lawton was running and fell on the pavement, skinned his nose and forehead and bled all over. the next thing i hear is "brooke! before you leave, we need to get a family picture!" so, all 70 of us crammed together and lawton is screaming bloody (literally) murder and bleeding. sweet. picture of the nose to come.
next up was karen's party. we all had to make her a cd of songs that reminded us of her - that was so much fun because i have so many memories of spending the night with her when i was young and listening to michael jackson, george michael and prince. we sang our songs on mikes and drank and danced, it was so much fun! here are some before the party got started. happy birthday kk, we love you!

great picture of you in that last picture(they are all great, but that one is so fabulous!!)
