last night we were in the ER. this is lawton's second time there and the first was when he was only a few weeks old. it never gets easier. monday afternoon, the screaming started and we rushed to the dr. nothing but a possible virus. red throat, and no fever. tuesday, fever and gasping started with a sunken in belly in the afternoon. rushed to the dr again. nothing. chest clear, ears clear but the gasping was weird. could be caused by fever. tuesday night, gasping got very bad. called my mom, she drove over, we drove to the hospital (around the corner) britney spears style - (who i am seeing in concert, on the floor tomorrow night!). baby in lap in the front seat i know, i know, but it is literally around the corner, so jack could meet us with my car there.
walked in with 102.9 and left with 102.1. x-rays came back clear THAT is a scary contraption.... and he got a breathing treatment which was horrendous for him. after that, he was fine. laughing, playing with his cars, etc. who knows. my conculsion 3.5 hours later is: you just can't mess with breathing issues.
hopefully today is a good day and mista gets better. i am one tired mama that is for sure! he is still asleep now, so hopefully that fever is down. sometimes you wonder if you should have taken them to the ER. it seems so scary and such a rash decision. and a lot of $$. but as jack and i were going to bed, he said " you made the right decision and you a great mother."
that is all i needed to hear. as a mother, you have to go with your gut even if the dr says he/she is fine. i always say, it is better to be safe than sorry. i think a mothers gut never tells a lie.
hopefully my gut says healthy baby for a long time!!
