this has been a hard 3 weeks for me. i have been blaming myself a lot. blaming myself that lawton isn't a great eater, i didn't start "people" food early enough, and that he isn't walking yet, but is thisclose and has been for months. now, i know i should blame myself for these things, but i do. and i have cried almost everyday. no one told me when he could eat real food, so we stuck with baby food. then, i took it all away and he was mad. very mad. and then, no one told me that he needed softer shoes to learn to walk. he has been wearing target huge rubber soled shoes forever. yesterday, i got him some new kicks. they aren't the hightop converse i was hoping for, but hopefully the poor guy can move easier. i am sorry buddy, i didn't know.

super cute.and while we are on the subject of hard weeks, man, the kid caught an at-ti-tude once he turned one! if he is frustrated, he buckles and swipes his arms. if he doesn't get his way, he whines. who is this kid? so, yesterday when we were buying his shoes and he had had enough, he threw a fit. so, we went next door and got this:

ReplyDeleteGirl, you have NOTHING to worry about. Stop yo stressin'! No one goes to middle school eating jars of baby food and strapped to their mom in a bjorn. They're only little for so long, enjoy it! (and call me when you have a 17 month old that doesn't walk...then we can talk.) haha.
ReplyDeleteBrooke, I love reading your blog! I am Melissa's sister's best friend (did you get all that haha). I don't think I have commented before but I wanted to write and let you know that you are a great mom. Our first babies are our guinea pigs. We figure it out as we go. My mom has hurt my feelings accidentally so many times telling me to do things I didn't figure out on my own. Next time around we'll all be pros!!! My son didn't walk until he was about 13-14 months and we are still figuring out the food thing at 3 1/2! Keep your head up! You are doing an awesome job!
