Dear Lawton,

I have been trying to write you a letter for a while now and I just can't get through it...there is so much to say and all you really need to know is that you have my heart. I would and will do anything for you. You are my favorite person (next to your daddy of course)in the world and I simply adore you. With every decision I make, you are my first thought. You have brought more joy than i can express in words into my life. I have enjoyed every moment of this year...the night feedings where you would breathe so gently on my shoulder, the first time you truly smiled at me even the smiles of a full belly at a few weeks old melted my heart!, the first time you giggled uncontrollably, the time that i flung you up in the air and you smiled-then threw up all over me, the 7 weeks that you slept in our room and i would use a flashlight on you just to see that you were breathing, the 365 days this year that i have woken up in the middle of the night to check on you (on the monitor now), the 4 steps that you took yesterday into my arms - woo hoo!, the times when you are sick (hate that) and cuddle with me now that you are on the move, the words that you know now and can actually say, the way you dance when you hear music or barney come on, your constant clapping, the fact that you have my number:throwing things on the floor and laughing..tsk tsk, your love of hide and seek with your daddy, coming to get you in the mornings and saying heeeey to each other, the wonderful open mouth kisses you give and big hugs, our night time routine, i love that you are laughing now at things that you think are funny and not just because i made you laugh, that you are ticklish all over, the first time you took swim lessons, the smiles you give your daddy when he walks in the door from work, the cries that you give when i have to go to work....i love everything. even when some days aren't as good as others, they are good days. we are so blessed that you are a happy, healthy boy. we love you more than anything in the world and are so so so proud to be your parents. Happy Birthday to my big boy!!
