Spraaang break 2014

last year was the first time we had done a "vacation" with the kids and it just being the 4 of us - we had a wonderful time last year....

this year was a different story.

unfortunately, the weather Gods didn't care that we were on "vacation" and it was COLD.

jack's parents have a lake house at smith mountain lake in VA and it is gorgeous there, so we have decided to make it an annual trip for the 4 of us to go on spring break

 the first full day we had, it was beautiful. cold, but beautiful.

and guess what? jack had the stomach bug. not the throw up kind if you know what I mean.

so.... he didn't even get out of bed until 3pm. fun times. NOT.

a little back story on that:

on the way up Tuesday, we stopped about an hour away from the house in va and wyatt had a poop. I went in the gas station bathroom (eww) and changed him. grabbed him to wash his hands and smelled something. he pooped again. omg.

went BACK out the car, got a new diaper, changed him (pain in the ass may I say) and grabbed him off the table to wash his hands. smelled something again. SMH.

I had enough.

made jack change him in the car and we were on our way. hence, how jack got the "bug"

 

so, mommy wasn't in the best mood having to stay inside because it was cold...good thing I had stocked up on new toys and games and even jack had a little fun with them ;)

 I caught him playing with the play doh.....alone.

 Lawton was the BEST big brother....always playing with wyatt and just being tender and loving. I realized that they really don't get to spend that much time together with Lawton in school 5 days a week and wyatt napping when he gets home. they truly enjoyed one another and had the best time playing and wrestling and just being together

 this is the majority of what we did....rode scooters up the hill and down and wyatt ran up and down. we played candyland, play doh and I ate and ate and ate and ate...because that is what I (we) do out of boredom.

 Thursday daddy felt better and we attempted to play putt putt which was fast and furious.

wyatt was all over the place (shocker), so I didn't play and the two big boys did. Lawton was the only one who got a hole in one! whoop! jack still has a hard time admitting that - he even gets competitive with his 4 year old son ;)

and let's not forget...a roadie was needed before putt putt ;)

 see?!?! I was there! no one ever takes pics of mommy ;)

I did love not having to be anywhere. it was so nice to stay in our pjs until 11am, read ( I read my first book in a while and I loved it! I miss reading so much!), jack and I caught up on breaking bad and drank a lot of wine 

 this little girl had the BEST time running around and going in the water. she is a lake dog for sure. I hate that we don't have more room for her to run around

 

 and THIS boy went to time out a LOT. (will write about that on another post) and didn't sleep well at all in his pack and play. we have some stuff to work on before summer because he will be in it a lot! I had to stay in the room until he fell asleep and he got up in the middle of each night crying for me. so, he ended up in our bed....each night. needless to say, I was exhausted each day.

 

Friday we managed to dye some easter eggs....but they didn't quite come out like the box said they would...liars

 

 

 

 another beautiful, yet chilly morning. gorgeous.

both conked out on the way home. they had a blast!!!! I hope next year it is 10 degrees warmer and no one gets sick....all in all, the boys had a great time and we had a some good family time for the 2 days that we could.....until next year SPRAAANG BREAK!
