today was the first day of school! well, not really for us - lawton has been going since he was 7 months old and all summer as well, but i think with these last 2 weeks, he has missed it! today was his first day in the toddler class which is SUPER SPECIAL for many reasons. #1. he is out of the baby room finally! no more baby toys, baby cries, swings, being quiet when others nap, eating in a table that he can't get out of, and no more small playground that looks over the big kid playground...all BIG BOY STUFF NOW!! arts and crafts, big boy toys, reading, playing on the big playground, eating at a table with his classmates, dancing and fun! and #2. his great aunt karen (kk) is his teacher! SCORE!

here is where the FAIL comes in. i didn't get him a "back to school outfit" or a dang backpack. i realized this morning that i needed a bigger bag for all of his stuff, yes, this morning, so i grabbed anything i could find. well, when i walked in to pick him up, every kid had their backpacks ready to go with their names on them.other moms-2 brooke-0 FAIL.
backpack is ordered and will be here in 5-7 business days. sweet. oh, and just you wait, this is a too cool for school backpack. it is pretty rad if you ask moi. anyway, i swear i used to be a better planner than this.
back to the story. and heeeeeeere's kk!

you better believe lawton is going to be prepared next year with a new outfit and his backpack all ready to go! OR better yet, I am going to be better prepared!
