friends for life

you know those friends who you meet and you just know they will be a part of your life forever? well, that for me is a girl from ohio named kindra faye hanson.
we met in nyc in 2002 doing a fashion show for h&m. we were in a van on the way back from the show and all the girls were talking about what books we were reading. i was reading winds of war or something historical and kindra was reading some sexy brown butter or something like that ;) i gave her a whole list of books to read and my email.
fast forward to 2 years later and she emailed me looking for a roommate. i was at my friends amy's house and was crying to her because i needed a roommate too. God does funny things like that.
i met her for lunch, asked her some questions and visa versa and there our friendship began.
10 years later, i consider her my family.
my great aunt was a HUGE, special part of my life and her name was Faye. when kindra told me her middle name was faye, so unusual, i knew we were meant to be.
we lived together from 2004-2007 without a fight, a disagreement, but only with laughs and friendship.
she was there when jack proposed, took all the pictures and celebrated with us. she is my forever friend. we don't ever talk on the phone really and we haven't seen each other in 2 years, but we again, are meant to be. just pick up where we left off.
she and her wonderful husband ngo, came to charlotte this weekend, to meet my boys and see us.
she has never seen me as a mother. the last time she was here was for lawton's baby shower. my friends who met her love her, follow her on FB and instagram and have become friends with her over the year.
she is still living in nyc and killing it! she married an amazing guy who jack loves and my boys....well, they LOVED these too. i have pics on my camera, but can't find the damn cord, so my phone will have to do.
ngo is a boxing champion and lawton couldn't wait to learn a few things from him
i took her to the candy store, we went to hilliard saturday morning, we talked for 14 hours straight on friday, we hung out the the boys rode bikes to lunch, we went to visit elizabeth and get her a twine and twig necklace, we went to the ritz for drinks, 5 church for dinner, brunch at their hotel on sunday and i held it together saying goodbye...until i got home.
i love her. i love him. the kids LOVED them. they are family.

it was perfect.
