lawton got a tent for his first birthday from his cousins and aunt and uncle. he really didn't know what to do with it since he couldn't walk then, so we kept it out for a while and it went untouched. yesterday, i pulled it out of the closet and surprised him when he woke up from his nap. he was in HEAVEN. boys and their forts!!! he better not get any ideas about camping outside one day, like i said above, mama SURE don't play that. sleeping on the hard ground? no thanks. bug bites? no thanks. locking your food up so a BEAR doesn't eat it? major no thanks. cooking baked beans over a fire that YOU had to start? no thanks! smores? YES PLEASE.
for now, we'll stick to tents inside ;-)

speaking of "forts" and tents....do you know what my brother and i had as a tent? a dang couch. none of these fancy tents that fold up the size of your head, we had a couch cushion and a few blankets. oh how things have changed!
