last week lawton had his 15 month old appointment...how did we get to this age already? i switched doctors this time to a young woman and man, did that make a difference than those old whitehairs! now don't get me wrong, he still freaked when i sat him down on the white paper and he clawed up my shoulder because he knew where he was, but he was better with her. she is so great and i think we can finally say we have found a doctor to stick with. thank you dr. cross for coming here!
so: here are the stats.
STILL 90% for yep. you guessed it - HEAD. (which i am SO thankful for because he has tumbled a few times and that head saves him everytime!)
90% for WEIGHT! jumped from the 75th. i told the dr. i was worried a bit because he isn't eating much and she straight up said, i don't think he is hurting for anything! ha! (28.7 pounds)
75% for HEIGHT. woo hoo! jumped from 50th. (32 in)
all in all a great appointment and he is moving right along ;-)
15 months has brought on so many new things. he changes EVERYDAY. i get a lot of belly laughs, a few tantrums here and there, somedays where he wants to do everything himself and others where he just wants mama. diapers have become a bitch to put on and we wrestle like the WWE when i have to change him. i swear, we eye eachother and feel the situation out and then wrestle! that is NOT cool with a poop diaper. he is really understanding what i say and can find things i ask for, point to what he wants, say quite a few words and sings a LOT. he is very into cars now and says VROOM VROOM 2/3 of the day. i have to be honest, he is the coolest kid i know. he is an angel for babysitters, he and i are bff and i love spending my day with him. working out of town has been hard because i miss the hell out of him. this is such a fun age and every stage just keeps getting better!! here are a few pics and mostly from my phone of the past week. happy 15th month to my little man!
learning to color

i taught him to back down the stairs last tuesday and he got it in a day (sorry for the bragging, but mama needs a pat on the back sometimes, even if it is from myself!) and jack sent me this picture when i was out of town working and it was captioned "very cautious". he starts a mile away when going down even one stair! gotta love that! it is so nice not having that big gate there for those 3 steps!
long car rides (over 20 min) are not awesome. not awesome at all.
shorter ones work for us ;-)
getting dressed isn't that much fun either.
but once he finally is, we are golden.
Lawton, today I celebrate being your mother. This is my second Mother's day and today i will reflect on this amazing year that you have brought me. You have made me a much better person and i would do anything in the world for you. Being a mother is God's best gift he has given me. My heart is beyond full knowing I get to have the pleasure to raise you and watch you become a man. You are the sunshine in my life and your hugs and kisses melt me everyday. I love you and I am so beyond proud that I am your mother. ( btw can i get a mama soon?? those words would be nice to hear!)
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
You and Jack are doing such an amazing job!!
