oh, how things have changed

this past weekend we went to visit our friends the millers in atlanta for the night...oh, how the times have changed!!! jack and duncan met when jack moved to atlanta about 9 years ago and became fast friends. they are hilarious together and needless to say are (well, used to be) wild men! then came along these 3 good looking boys ;-).

meet the miller twins, reid and colin - lawton's new friends who will be friends forever! their mommy merrit is so great with them and they are so lucky to have both of them as parents! we can't wait to see how these boys grow and what they become in life. we loved meeting them and seeing what lawton will be like in a few months!




duncan nicknamed jack "pony boy" when they met and it has stuck like glue...doesn't he kinda look like a "pony boy?" anyway, trent (my bro) got this shirt made for lawton before he was born -"PONY'S BOY", so we had to wear it for duncan!

these boys were so happy to see each other - it had been way too long. i think they had all kinds of plans to stay up til 4am and solve the worlds problems like they used to.....then came along the kiddos and we were all in bed at 11pm. oh, how the times have changed!

Sunday, we went to see other great friends, cissy and ellen's babies! i met sweet lucy in the hospital (so glad i happened to be in town when she gave birth!) and hadn't met cole yet (he is 10 weeks). it was fun to see all the kids together - i feel like it was just the other day when we were drinking a glass of wine at dinner, asking one "when are you going to start having babies?!!"

what the hell?!i go away for ONE weekend and this is what i come home to...my hubby must have brainwashed lawton all weekend. ALL HE SAYS IS DADADADADA now!! before i left, MAAAA MAAAA were the only "words" coming out of his mouth - I SWEAR!! ( and no, i do not always laugh when he cries...this was all for the blog people. all for the blog. your welcome)

A Few "Firsts"

This weekend Lawton had two "firsts". Saturday we went to the park and he swung in a real swing for the first time. As you will see below, he was not amused, happy or excited like he is in his bouncy at home. He really looked pissed and sick. Maybe in a month or so we will try again ;)

Today we took mister man to the Harris Y indoor pool. It is total bad ass. Swings, wading pool, slides (that Jack wished he were small enough to fit in), noodles, you name it. Lawton LOVED it. He is a water baby like his daddy. Meanwhile, I was trying so hard to put on a happy face when kids were "accidentally" splashing me. Those little girls will understand one day when they have to spend 30 minutes drying their hair straight! All in all, we had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Playgroup Fun

elizabeth hosted playgroup this morning and had a surprise for all the kiddos. SPAGHETTI! she made these adorable hats and let the kids get down to their skives and have a little fun! i love seeing these girls every week - i look forward to thursday mornings!!

Mama's Weekend Out!

This past weekend, I went to Wrightsville beach with my very best friends. We all met our freshman year (except for Jenna and me) and have been best friends now for 12 years. We have been through a lot together and I love them like sisters.This was the first weekend that I have been away with girls (not pregnant) since my bachelorette weekend! Needless to say, there were a LOT of laughs, a LOT of fist pumping and a LOT of fun. I can't wait untill next year - I love you Laura, Jenna, Wicker and Brooks (even if only Laura thank you girl reads my blog!)

This was the song of the weekend (or i remember asking the DJ to play it over and over and jumping up and down at da club like snooks from the shore)

Meanwhile, Lawton went to Greensboro with his daddy to see his cousins and aunt Mandy and had a great time!
