ahh how sweet it is. HOME. such a simple word, but with so many different meanings. i was away from my 2 boys from tuesday to very late saturday night last week working. i had a lump in my throat all 4th of july weekend anticipating leaving lawton (sorry jack) for so many days. one night is great, but 5?! this was going to be hard. well, my friends, it wasn't. yes, i cried all morning the day i was leaving, but once gone, i was in the zone. (plus, brooks, erin, kendall and courtney all checked on me - love you!) see, home used to be new york for me. this was where i lived, worked, played and made many of my best friends. everytime i see the skyline, i still feel at home. our shoot was in jersey, but hey, i still saw the buildings ;0. i worked with one of my favorite clients that generously had me back post baby. i had a GREAT time. (we won't discuss my train breaking down in 106 heat, having a bit of a panic attack when the fire dept, police and news showed up and 2 hrs later i was BACK at newark to sleep for the night, or that our atlanta condo was broken into while i was away OR that on my way home the airline people noticed that my license was expired and scared me shitless about maybe not being able to get through security) we were so busy, i really didn't have a chance to feel sad. PLUS, lawton LOVED LOVED spending time with his great aunt karen and cousins rachel and riley, his wonderful babysitter stuart and most of all his daddy. a little "dude" time was just what the dr ordered for those two. good thing because i am leaving for work again for 3 nights next week! but seriously, it was like christmas morning for me seeing those two saturday night, a little separation sometimes is a beautiful thing...
so glad you have this attitude! It’s healthy and good for all of you! Well done mama!
