7 years

yesterday, jack and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary...the 7 year itch they say right?
what? you are itching to get away from each other? itching to move on?
not me.

we have had our ups and downs and our fights and our makeups, but we aren't going anywhere.
this was the man that was meant for me and I for him. like it or not jack! ;)
when we met, we couldn't keep our hands off eachother! always holding hands, arms around one another, our friends would be grossed out but we loved it...
we were engaged 9 months after we met. we said I love you 5 days after we met. when you know you know right?
10 months after that, we were married

I moved from nyc to be with him in Atlanta for a year. after that, we were thinking about starting a family and wanted to be in nc
 so, to charlotte we went!
about a year and a half after we married, we were pregnant with our first son. jack was a pro. he was a fantastic uncle and knew just what to do with a newborn and Lawton is still the apple of his eye
 and then there were 3!
when Lawton turned 2, I was 12 weeks pregnant with our second son
we learned a lot about one another during these past 3 years....a lot about strength and love.

we celebrated a little early in cabo and last night enjoyed a night at home with our babies carving pumpkins....the perfect evening!
happy 7 years jack! its so not fair that you have gotten better looking with age...grrrrr ;)
I am glad to have this guy by my side through thick and thin....plus, he is good arm candy ;)
here is to another 7!

MUCH needed trip!

last week, jack and I headed out for a much needed vacation with friends....we haven't been away since our first year anniversary (I don't count the Bahamas because it is for work and we don't relax much at all there) in cabo and back to cabo we went!
our friends the luciers, invited us and we jumped at the chance to go.
we were gone from Saturday to Thursday and it was the longest I have been away from both boys.
if you follow the news, there was a devastating hurricane weeks before our trip. the airport was working, but windows were still blown out, the ceilings were basically wires, and on the way into town we saw where we stayed 6 years ago and it was awful. most hotels won't open back until 2015. BUT, our hotel wasn't touched. it was pretty amazing to see.....our American airlines flight was the first AA flight back to cabo since the storm. crazy!

we had the most gorgeous view and were in a villa with 2 rooms and a kitchen, den, etc. the palm trees took a beating, but otherwise, the hotel was in perfect condition.
the boys had to have a tequila shot the first second that we go there ;)
little iguana on the beach - this guy who put it on us was laughing his ass off at our reactions!
on Monday, the boys went deep sea fishing and Kimberly and I paddleboarded for an hour (we thought we would go for 30 minutes but we kept getting swept out to sea!) and then had a wonderful massage in the spa. when we were paddleboarding, we even saw a sea lion!
Tuesday night we went into town and had dinner at a local restaurant and had a great time

on Tuesday we also took a glass bottom boat to see the arch and the sea lions and he dropped us on a beach for about an hour and a half and we snorkeled and swam...the fish were beautiful and the water felt great

jack took a jet ski out that afternoon while I lazily read by the pool

on our last day there, we got up really early and all took a glass bottom boat out for a few hours to fish. this was the first day of a huge fishing tournament in cabo and it was neat to see all the boats going out for the day.

jack caught a mahi mahi and we took it back to the grill at our hotel and they made lunch!
mahi ceviche and cooked two different ways. hands down was the best fish I have ever tasted
that night we went out to dinner and it was the perfect way to end our trip. Kimberly and mike stayed until Saturday - we were sad to go but excited to see the boys!
I will be forever grateful for the luciers for including us - we had the best time and really got to relax, laugh with friends, and enjoy the sun and life in general...
life is good!

Pumpkins!

this week jack and I took the boys to pick out their pumpkins
watching wyatt is so much fun, he is having the best time with the holidays and really starting to have fun, interact, and enjoy things. don't get me wrong, he is still hard headed as hell, but another post to come on that ;)

sweet Lawton loves to talk TN and the Panthers. esp because his best bud gavin's dad is the defensive coordinator for the panthers and he wants them to make gavin proud ;)
 heavy!

I decorated the house the other day and actually had fun doing it! while I was hanging the light up bats, jack actually sat down in front of me (while I was on the ladder) and ate lunch. I told him I hoped all the new neighbors saw this picture....of me struggling to hang lights, and him eating casually. note that I had not eaten lunch yet.
men. can't5 live with them, can't live without them!
we are ready! so excited to be a part of the cotswald Halloween parade this year - the kids are so excited!

where have we been?

oh my little blog, I have missed you!!
we have been so incredibly busy over the past few months, that I haven't had a chance to sit down, upload pics and bring my life up to date.
today, some iphone pics will have to do!

first of all, we moved! we bought a house and closed in 30 days.
everyone says moving is awful, but I was so excited i couldn't stand it! packing boxes was actually fun for me. it was a step towards our future home, a home with more space for our children to run around and a home that would be probably, our forever home. so, I was thrilled.
it got a little tricky moving when the boys had 2 weeks of from summer school to starting a new year, but we survived.
we said goodbye to 2008 greenway on august 26th and hello to queen charlottes court....a lovely street in cotswald with a cul-de-sac for the kids to ride bikes and scooters in, walking distance to Lawton's elementary school next year and great neighbors...but we do miss our Elizabeth neighbors everyday!
in September the boys started school...this is Lawton's last year at preschool - I can't believe it!
he is in ms. Melissa and ms. dianes class 5 days a week and is the tallest one in class.
wyatt is in the 2's class with ms. Jennifer and ms. barbara and he goes 4 days a week and on the Thursday that he is off, we have speech.
I missed their first day of school because work has picked up majorly for me. I am so so happy to be working so much and it makes me a better mother I swear! time out from cleaning, wiping bottoms, getting this and that is good for me. every mother needs a break! I have been traveling to high point, Atlanta, etc and that makes things a bit tricky, but again, wouldn't have it any other way!

modeling my fav LSJ top!

Lawton started soccer and jack is the coach again....he loves it!
and he is actually really good - doesn't get fancy footwork from me, we all know I am a size 10 and not very good on my feet ;)
the most he has scored in a game is 9 goals and the least 3!
my parents do give him a dollar for every goal, so maybe that is why he is so motivated? ;)
 prayer before the game

wyatt came down with a fever and a terrible rash all over his body, which then turned into his feet peeling? welcome back to school right? we are all battling terrible colds as I speak..
we have gone to acupuncture more times in the past 2 weeks than all summer! jane worked on wyatt with his rash (it was 3/4 gone the next day) and Lawton with his cold. I am going in this week- need to knock this 10 day thing out of my way!

the BIGGEST news that has happened over the past few months, is that my brother just got engaged last weekend!!!!
Joanna is wonderful and she makes my brother so incredibly happy....we can't wait to welcome her to the family! they met in London and she is from new York...hopefully they will make their way back to the states soon so we can start wedding planning! and when I say, we, I mean they ;)
the boys are so excited to have another aunt and I am just so happy that my brother is on cloud 9. he deserves nothing but the best and she is it ;)
