4 months!!

my precious "love bug".....don't know where or why the heck i started calling you that, but that you are my sweet boy...you are my true love bug. your smile is INFECTIOUS.

you are such a happy boy and just make my days so much better.

you are getting so big! out of 3 month clothing and on to 6 months...we go to the dr monday and i can't wait to see your stats!

at 4 months:

- you are still going to bed around 10...we need to change that very soon - the schedule life is creeping up and i am not ready!

-you are sleeping through the night, but usually wake around 6, get in bed with us and back to sleep  until about 7:30

-i put some cereal in your milk this morning for the first time

-eating 7 oz bottles every 3-3.5 hours

-you are SO smiley....i love love love love love love love it!! they are going to have to put me in a straight jacket the day of your surgery....

-you are a kicker...your legs never stop!

-you are really getting into lawton...watching him move around, widening your eyes when he starts talking, looking for him...

-we have tried the bumbo and you  seem to like it

-you still HATE tummy time

-you are still in a pack in play in our room - i don't know when i will let you go!

-you stand up so well....when i try to burp you, you lock your legs, stand and scream your head off!

-i got some giggles the other night and i can't wait until you start really laughing - it made my year!

-you aren't choking much anymore and are getting so good at feeding....life it getting a bit easier on that part! woo hoo!!

-you are really only out of my sight for one hour of the day and that is at the gym...otherwise, you and i are together a LOT

-you are an every other day pooper ;) totally blow it out one day and nothing the next

-you LOVE being kissed on your lips....it lights up your face (and mine since your brother wipes AWAY my kisses!)

-you are constantly chewing on your hands and drooling

-you are also beginning to play with toys and discovering your hands!

-starting to talk/coo a lot!

wyatt, how did i ever worry about you?

you have brought so much JOY to our whole family and so much LOVE into my heart.

i feel like i need to fall to my knees thanking the Lord for blessing me with you and your brother.

i know we have a lot of hurdles ahead and my worry will not cease, but i know you will ease my fears and worries. you are stronger than i am, my beautiful baby boy.

THANKFUL i didnt check into the loony bin

wooooo nelly!! last week had to have been one of the worst weeks i have had in a LONG time. our washer broke, therefore i had to do a load at my parents every day last week. on the plus side, i got to see them but what a pain. $200 later, the part will be here wednesday. you can't imagine how convenient having a washer is until you can't wash...especially when you have a newborn that occasionally poops out of his diaper!

 the computer wouldn't work. $330 later, it is virus free and i am able to see a bigger screen than my iphone. didn't get it back until yesterday.

Tuesday, i had my 5th, YES 5TH root canal. i have terrible teeth. i was once told i have acidic saliva? i eat a ton of candy, but i am sticking to that ;) anyway, this bitch hurt. i was taking 3 advil every 4 hours up until yesterday (5 days). i could buy a very nice car with the $$ i have spent on my teeth.

and most of all... Lawton has been terrible!!!! WOW---terrible 2's, almost 3's hit BIG TIME. whining, crying, hitting, talking back, you name it. I thought i might have to up my dose of lexapro people. it was BAD.

 

enter thanksgiving:

i was very excited to be with family. we drove to greensboro and had a wonderful thankgiving meal....everyone doted on wyatt and lawton had a BLAST with his cousins. see that girl in my lap? she is the BEST babysitter---my niece Emily loves babies and especially her cousins. she carried lawton until he weighed almost as much as her ;)

finally got him in some STATE gear and not TN!

we started to take some christmas card pics for mimi and that didn't go too well with my devil of a 2 year old....i still don't have my picture yet either...kid won't smile for anything!!

well, after a wonderful day, the night was the worst. i had to sleep with lawton and wyatt. lawton coughed ALL.NIGHT.LONG. and not any old cough, but a croupy cough. we know what that sounds like bc we have been there, done that, have a nedulizer, you name it.

wyatt was crying every 10 minutes bc he was uncomfortable in his little hammock. so, i wiped noses, calmed lawton, rocked wyatt until 7am. i have never in my life pulled an all nighter until that night. it was TERRIBLE. i then slept until 9 and jack left to play golf from 9-5. needless to say, i was exhausted. lawton seemed better saturday thank goodness, but had a terrible cold. friday we were up a lot with his coughing, wanting to watch TV, having a few fits....again, not much sleep. wyatt was an angel thank goodness.

saturday morning, i was gone by 9:30.

2 nights is it for brooke.....anywhere. i don't care if you are my family, best friends, etc, i am ready to go after 2 nights. well, the only exception is if i am on a island with jack ;)

so, back to reality. i couldn't wait for a new week to begin. i LOVED thanksgiving and spending time with my family....we need to see them more often and are going to make it happen in 2013.....but damn, those two nights were hard as hell!

computer fixed, washer wednesday, root canal better and making sure to take my happy pills everyday.

supper club

jack and i are in a supper club of best friends....it is honestly our favorite thing to do each month. we have been in this with 5 couples for over a year now and these are our very best friends. this month, katherine had the AWESOME idea of taking our dinner to the new and improved bowling lanes.

WE.HAD.A.BLAST.

 yes, my husband owns his own bowling ball and shoes. the shoes are TERRIBLE. think black reebok high tops. for real. the shoes in the alley made my size 10 feet look like clown fee. for real. anyway, i went on a date with a cute guy one time and we decided to go bowling. he opened his truck, pulled out his ball and shoes and right then and there, the date was over for me. seriously. i couldn't get over that he had his own bowling gear. who does that? enter jack hall. my fate i guess huh??

 sweet katherine.....she got better and better as the beer flowed!

 my brother and dad were having drinks across the street (mom was oot) and 2 couples couldn't make it that night, so they joined. they were about 7 beers deep when they got there and needless to say, we had a blast and they both kicked butt in bowling.

it's funny how much fun bowling really is....everyone does their own little dance if they make a good shot, there were TONS of people there that we knew and it really was so much fun. i have to say, i didn't do bad at all....i guess my NC.STATE education paid off a little bit (yes, i took it an elective and i had to cheat!!)

we have been MIA!

lawton had a terrible cold, which turned into an ear infection and hand, foot and mouth! the award goes to lawton though, i took him in for his cough and we came out with those...would have never known about his ear and i spotted the little bumps on his hands waiting for the dr. thank goodness it didn't go in his throat. so, basically, he had a fever for 6 days straight...the cold was the worst of it! whew!

last week a friend invited my mom and i to the march of dimes silent auction at carmel country club. we had a great great time! jordan, thank you for including us for such a great cause!

we bid on a huge spiderman package and won! mom and i are splitting it up for christmas for lawton...he is going to freak out ;)

speaking of my mom, here is the PA!! her last day was saturday and we are SO proud of her. it has been a long, HARD 5 years for her and she has done an amazing job. i can't believe she is actually going to be a PA!!! she has put so much time and work into this and she is smart as all get out. such an inspiration!!

Holiday sickies

every year when a holiday rolls around, i am prepared for lawton to be sick. july 4th, wheezing and an urgent care visit. memorial day, the throw up bug, halloween, fever. it just is "our thing" i guess. lawton had a fever and the start of a terrible cold. took his temp right after i iced the beer for the neighborhood party, got wyatt all squared away, everyone in their costumes and he had 102. welp, we threw our hands up in the air. here we go again!

so, we did what good parents do.

we drank the beer, we still took him tick or treating but not to the hood party and finished the night off with pizza. fever schmever.

yes, he had to stay home thursday, but he had a good time wednesday night ;)

 yuuummm!! i left a bowl on the porch so that i could go with the boys (funcle trent came too!) and came home to an empty bowl and 3 boxes of Dots. what is the deal? i love Dots? bunch of scavengers...

carving our pumpkins!

Lawton is at such a great age to really start getting into holidays. it has been so much fun to go to the pumpkin patch, take walks around the neighborhood and see the decorations on the porches, and carving pumpkins - i am excited for trick or treating tomorrow too!

my boys had requests. the daddy wanted a T for his beloved TN and Lawton wanted a spiderman since that is what he is going to be for Halloween.

we have never done a "fancy" pumpkin, so i was excited to see how jack was going to pull this off....

lawton thought the seeds were "gross" and i tried to roast the pumpkin seeds...

is there a trick, because they were terrible. i had to spit out the leftover hard seeds after i basically had more salt than seed......this was after i told jack what he had been missing since he had never tried them and i made a big deal about how good they were going to be. big fat FAIL.

the pumpkins however, are the bomb if you ask me--
